Amrabat caught the attention of a number of clubs after helping Morocco become the first Africa nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar.
The 26-year-old started all seven of Morocco’s World Cup games as the Atlas Lions beat Spain and Portugal to reach the final-four before they were eliminated by eventual runners-up France.
Despite spending more than £100m on Enzo Fernandez in January, Chelsea were interested in signing Amrabat on loan towards the end of the transfer window.
But the Blues were not the only Premier League club looking at Amrabat, with Manchester United making an offer to sign the Moroccan midfielder, according to his agent.
Erik ten Hag was keen to bolster his midfielder options in January after losing Denmark star Christian Eriksen to injury, with United ultimately signing Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich.
‘Yes, we received more than one offer during the last winter transfer period,’ Amrabat’s agent Mohammed Sinouh told Kora Plus.
‘There was also an offer from Manchester United, but the negotiations were not completed at the time.’
Amrabat is closing in on 100 appearances for Fiorentina, who signed him from Club Brugge in 2020.
He has been a key player for the Italian club this season but will be allowed to leave this summer if Fiorentina receive a suitable offer, his agent said.
‘At the moment, we don’t have any offers for the exit of Sofyan Amrabat,’ he added.
‘But Fiorentina welcomes the player’s departure in the summer, especially after obtaining a promise from the club president to do so when he rejected the offers in the winter transfer period.’
Fiorentina are currently ninth in Serie A, eight points outside the European places with ten games of the 2022-23 campaign remaining.
