Ahmedabad to host IPL 2023 final and Qualifier 2; Qualifier 1 and Eliminator in Chennai | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The wait is finally over and all the speculations have come to an end as the BCCI on Friday announced the schedule and venue details of the IPL 2023 knockouts.
As expected, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will host the IPL final along with Qualifier 2 on May 28 and May 26 respectively, while Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will take place in Chennai on May 23 and May 24 respectively, according to a BCCI media release.

Ahmedabad, which is the home ground of the Gujarat Titans and has a capacity of 132,000, also hosted the final last season.
The 16th edition of the tournament started from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21.
All the 10 franchises will play 7 home and 7 away matches during the league phase of the tournament.

A total of 70 league matches will be played and will include 18 double headers. The league matches will be played over a course of 52 days at 12 venues.
