AN AIRLINE has announced its exciting plans for new flights to a stunning Scots island with a would-famous tourist attraction.
Scottish airline Loganair will relaunch its popular Kirkwall, Orkney to Fair Isle route for its summer 2024 itinerary.
The National Trust for Scotland run Fair Isle airport, which is one of the UK‘s smallest.
It will be the first time since March 2019 commercial flights flew out to the small island.
Fair Isle is located between Shetland and Orkney. It is home to a population of 60 people making it one the Britain‘s most remote inhabited islands.
The island is known for its bird watching. The Fair Isle Bird Observatory suffered a devastating fire in March 2019 forcing it to close.
It will start flying to the island from May 20 to September 2 – operating two times a week.
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We’re improving our schedule and increasing frequency across several key markets, in order to better serve our customers next summer.
“The opportunity to reinstate our Fair Isle service is particularly pleasing and demonstrates our support to this island community.
“Advance booking is the optimal way to secure the best value deals on our services so with over 900,000 seats now available next summer, it is the perfect time to plan your trips.”
It follows news of JET2 launching a new exciting flight from Glasgow airport.
The airline will operate flights every Wednesday from Glasgow to Verona in Italy.
