Airports hiking parking costs by 128 percent in time for Christmas

Out of the main, major UK airports, seven are not increasing their car parking fees between December and January. They do still vary in price between £40 at Durham Tees up to £132.50 at London City Airport.

This includes, London City Airport, Cardiff Airport, Aberdeen Airport, Southampton Airport, Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Bournemouth Airport and Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Earlier this year, money saving expert Martin Lewis urged drivers to make sure they keep their costs down when going away, especially when looking for cheap airport parking.

Speaking on the Martin Lewis Show: Live in May, he said: “When parking at the airport, book ahead. Even if it’s on the day. Better still, book earlier and there are comparison sites for that too.”
