AJMAN, 2nd March, 2023 (WAM) — The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) is organising the 3rd edition of the “Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition” on the 4th and 5th March, 2023, in collaboration with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBBF) and the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB).
This event will take place at the Ajman Cultural Centre with the participation of regional and international bodybuilding champions, in addition to Emirati amateurs, as the ADTD believes in inspiring youth and motivating them to pursue their bodybuilding career, which will place the UAE as a leading country in sports.
The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition is the first international competition in the UAE to include all main categories for juniors: Bodybuilding, Classic Bodybuilding, Physique, Classic Physique, Muscular Physique, and Body Style, in addition to an IFBB Elite Pro category for professionals. The prize pool of this competition is AED62,000, and winners of the junior categories will be awarded Elite Pro Cards to participate in the world professional competition organised by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition will be attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Dr. Rafael Santonja, President of the IFBB, Dr. Adel Fahim, First Vice President of the IFBB, President of the Arab and African Bodybuilding Federations, and President of Egypt Bodybuilding Federation, in addition to several officials and athletes.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the exceptional efforts by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development to organise a new edition of the Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition, which has witnessed remarkable success in the past due to the participation of the best athletes in the world and wide coverage from the press and social media.
Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of the ADTD, stated, “We are pleased to be organising the Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition for the third time. It is an important event promoting Ajman as a platform for international sports. Our team has laid the final touches for this competition according to the highest approved standards, guaranteeing another exceptional edition this year.”
“Considered the main competition accredited by the International Bodybuilding and Fitness federation, the Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition has become an important event on the department’s yearly agenda. It paves the way for athletes to quality for other international professional competitions. This competition has witnessed growing popularity among all age groups and nationalities in our society. By organising such events, Ajman Tourism will be achieving its mission to offer diversity in sports,” Alhashmi said in conclusion.
