Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh, who are due to star together in Cuttputlli, shared a new video together to promote the film. The video, set to the tune of the film’s first song Saathiya, saw Akshay pranking Rakul after initially leaving her impressed with his romantic gesture. Akshay took to his Instagram account on Thursday to share the video. The video started with the two taking a stroll together when they encounter a puddle filled with water on their way. Akshay immediately finds a solution to the problem for Rakul, and places bricks in front of her to help her cross the puddle.
However, as Rakul Preet Singh reaches the middle of the puddle, Akshay ditches her and moves away with the second brick. He then says a line from the film, “Killer ke saath power nahi, mind game khelna chahiye (one should play mind games, not power games with a killer),” before dropping the brick in the water letting the water splash all over Rakul, who runs after him.
Sharing the video, Akshay captioned it, “It was all fun and games until someone decided to play mind games.” He also urged his followers to also create fun videos with a twist on the song, and promised to share the best ones. Fans dropped laughing emojis in the comments section.
Cuttputlli is produced by Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Pooja Entertainment, and directed by Ranjit M Tewari. It stars Akshay Kumar as sub-inspector Arjan Sethi who is trying to catch a serial killer in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh.
The film, which is due to be released on Disney+ Hotstar on 2nd September, is Akshay’s fourth film this year after Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan. The actor has several other films in the pipeline, including Ram Setu, Selfiee, Oh My God! 2, Capsule Gill, Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, and the untitled remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru.
