SHARJAH, 25th May, 2022 (WAM) — During its participation in the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), Al Qasimi Publications published the book “Ghafalah, One of the Al Ghazi Tribes in the United Arab Emirates”, written by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The book chronicles the history of Ghafalah, which is one of the powerful tribes of the Al Ghazi tribe from Bani Lam. Ghafalah Tribe came from Iraq along with Al Qawassim, and were the force that occupied Sharjah when Sheikh Fahim bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, cousin of Sheikh Kayed bin Hamoud Adwan, came to Sharjah in 1063 AH, corresponding to 1653 AD.
The book is the latest of the Sharjah Ruler’s publications, which amounted to 74 in various fields of knowledge, including history, investigation, literature and theatre, and many of them were translated into 20 foreign languages.
