NBC’s Today Show returned to screens on Wednesday with its insightful cooking segment as Chef Evan Funke made Linguine al Limone. While the hosts tasted other dishes, Al Roker offered Hoda Kotd a bite of his PayDay candy bar.

After Chef Evan Funke’s recent trip to Sicily, he appeared on the broadcast to give the presenters a taste of his lemony linguine dish.

During this, Carson Daly interrupted and shared he had some “breaking news”.

Referring to a Twitter poll, he revealed: “It turns out America would like to see Al consume his PayDay bar.

This came after Al joked about eating the treat as the show was going to go into the weather segment.

As Al picked up the bar, he announced: “I’ll take your word,” before turning to Hoda who was sitting beside him.

He lifted the bar up to Hoda’s lips and asked: “Here, would you help me?”

Hoda grinned and grabbed the other end of the candy, taking a bite while Al also bit into the opposite end.

The other hosts laughed as both Al and Craig agreed it was a “Lady and the Tramp moment”.

As Hoda seemed delighted at the PayDay bar, Craig Melvin chuckled: “There’s the meme,” and remarked: “Great, great.”

While Carson joked: “That’s disgusting in every form.”

Soon after, the host shifted gears back to the cooking segment as he added: “This pasta’s much better than that.”

Fans were delighted to see Al make an emotional return to the Today show following his two-month absence.

The 68-year-old meteorologist was admitted to the hospital for a blood clot in his leg, which sent clots into his lungs.

However, he has since made a full recovery and soon revealed he had walked 13,677 steps, which amounted to an impressive 5.7 miles.

Taking to Instagram shared: “Yesterday was the #bestdayyet when it comes to my steps on this #bumknee before my #kneereplacementsurgery in late April.”
