That’s according to Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who believes Kane is at a crossroads in his career.
Kane’s season was perfectly summed up on Saturday as he scored a brilliant free-kick to give Spurs the lead against Brentford, which was his 28th goal of the campaign.
However, Tottenham went on to lose 3-1 to the Bees to leave the club in 8th spot going into the final weekend of the season.
As it stands, Spurs won’t qualify for the Europa League, nevermind the Europa Conference League.
Manchester United have made Kane their number one target and the striker will have 12 months remaining on his deal at the end of the season, with little intention of signing an extension.
And Shearer says the time has come for Kane to seriously consider a move away from north London.
‘If it was me, personally, in his situation now – yeah, I would look at my options,’ Shearer told Match of the Day.
‘He has been so loyal to Tottenham and so brilliant for Tottenham. I don’t think any Tottenham fan could complain if he said: ‘Look, I’ve done my time and I have got to look elsewhere.’
Kane is chasing down Shearer’s Premier League scoring record and is keen to stay in England to ensure he breaks it.
Spurs are desperate to keep Kane and even if they reluctantly decided to let him leave, they’ll demand in excess of £100m for the striker.
