In line with Covid restrictions, Aldi has been constantly changing and updating its rules, including its opening times, over the past year and a half. As the Government clamps down on regulations, this Christmas is no different. What should customers be aware of when shopping at Aldi during the holidays?
“We will once again keep all stores shut on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day as a thank you to our amazing colleagues and in recognition of their hard work – something we have always done since opening in the UK over 30 years ago.
“Lots of colleagues will be on hand in the run-up to Christmas to help you find all the items you need, and we’ve even brought on board 1,500 new colleagues for the festive period.”
The CEO went on to explain what Aldi’s branches are doing to keep customers safe from Covid.
He said: “In line with the latest Government guidelines, we are asking all customers to wear a face covering when shopping with us in store, unless they are exempt for medical reasons.
“We believe the message of the campaign, ‘for you to be happy, you need to be kind’, has never been more true.
“As part of this, we have committed to donate 1.8 million meals this festive period to support those in need – and we know that many of you want to help too.
“That’s why we’ve introduced community donation points to all our UK stores.
“Your donations can help make a real difference, and I would encourage you to help if you are able to.”
Mr Hurley added: “After an unusual Christmas last year, I hope this festive period is even more special for you than ever before, and that you get to spend some quality time with the ones you love.
“I want to take this opportunity, on behalf of everyone at Aldi, to wish you a very merry Christmas.”
