Alec Baldwin shared an emotional statement to Instagram announcing his mum Carol has died aged 92 in her hometown in New York

Alec Baldwin has shared the sad news that his beloved mother Carol Baldwin has died at the age of 92.
The actor, 64, took to Instagram to inform his 2.4 million of his mum’s death in her hometown of Syracuse, New York, on Thursday.
Alongside two images of Carol, Alec paid an emotional tribute and shared a short obituary of her life.
He explained it was with “the deepest regret” that his family had to confirm the death of Carol.
Carol was also mum to Daniel, William, Stephen, Elizabeth and Jane.
After the statement told his followers about his mum’s childhood and later life, Alec added: “My mother taught me about second acts. And third ones, too.

“She spent the last 25 years of her life as a fighter and a champion for the cause to which she devoted so much energy. We are all enormously proud of her accomplishments.”
Celebs and fans were quick to pay their own respects and send messages of condolence on Alex’s post.
Among those messaging was actress Amy Sedaris who wrote: “Awwwww oh I’m so so sorry. I will light a candle. Thinking of you.”
Wife Hilaria also posted a love heart emoji before sharing a shot of a thoughtful looking Alec in the evening next to an outdoor fire on her own page.
She captioned the snap: “She lives on in you, her other babies, their babies…our babies…in all of those who loved her and knew her big heart. Rest In Peace, Carol M. Baldwin”
On her Stories she shared another image of Alec being piled on by several of the pair’s kids alongside the words “One day, our babies will lose us too… Until then we hold each other tight and live each moment as fully as possible.”
She then uploaded a sweet video of Alec playing baseball with his children and wrote: “What a crew that bloomed from you, Carol.”
Niece Hailey Bieber also shared a single white heart emoji in the comments section on Alec’s post. She shared her uncle’s message to her own Instagram Stories too alongside the words: “We love you Grandma.”
Carol is survived by her six kids, 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
