FA Cup Final: Match in pictures as Leicester beat Chelsea

The FA Cup returned with a bang over the weekend and threw up its fair share of shocks and surprises.

National League South side St Albans City stunned League Two leaders Forest Green Rovers in one of the eye-raising wins on Sunday.

Elsewhere Buxton, of the Northern Premier League Premier Division, provided one of the best stories. They had brought in a new manager only days before their historic first round clash at York City.

But the upheaval clearly didn’t affect them as they won 1-0 in what was their first game in the competition proper for almost 60 years.

Which non-league side will go furthest in this year’s FA Cup? Let us know in the comments section

St Albans City dumped out League Two leaders Forest Green in one of the shocks of FA Cup first round weekend

They are two of seven non-league sides guaranteed to be in the second round. The others are the National League quartet of Boreham Wood, Chesterfield, FC Halifax and Yeovil Town.

Kidderminster complete the non-league group after they dumped out National League side Grimsby.

So far 20 sides from the EFL have safely made it through with 12 replays that include a further six non-league teams.

Monday night sees the only remaining tie take place when National League side Dagenham and Redbridge host Class of 92-owned Salford City.

Winners of the first round clinch prize money of just over £22,000 with extra funds given to those who were chosen as TV picks.

There are more healthy cash injections at stake in round two, with winners receiving £34,000 and the chance to potentially be drawn with one of the big boys from the Premier League in round three.

The second round draw takes place on Monday night. Click here for all the details including ball numbers.
