Whether you like it or not, awards season is here. And whether you like it or not, the Golden Globes, which were briefly blacklisted, are back…or at least they’re trying to be back. The nominations for the 2023 ceremony were announced on Monday 12 December, and as ever, there are plenty of Golden Globes snubs to complain about. The 80th Golden Globe Awards will honor film and American television of 2022, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The ceremony, hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, will take place on 10 January 2023, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
A lot of worthy performances were not recognised, including several from HBO’s House of the Dragon and The White Lotus. And in a classic Golden Globes/awards show move, no women were nominated in the directing category.
