All the chicest celebrity looks at Wimbledon 2022 as a sustainable dress code is introduced

While the early-June heatwave may have indicated that summer was well on its way, nothing kicks off the season quite like Wimbledon.

And while we were, obviously, all backing our girl Emma Raducanu before Caroline Garcia took the win last night, there’s a whole other point of interest during the tournament that has got absolutely nothing to do with tennis.

Annually welcoming a slew of high-profile attendees, Wimbledon is by no means short of a celebrity fan or two. But while the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge, Emma Watson and Sienna Miller tend to wait until week two to make their SW19 appearances, there has been a number of recognisable faces arrive courtside already this week modelling their finest summer looks.

There may not be an official Wimbledon guest dress code, but smart attire is encouraged and – if you’re a truly devoted fan – stark whites and forest greens prove popular.

Making a sustainable statement, those who attend Wimbledon this year with evian, the official water sponsor for The Championships, are being invited to follow the dress code summer-smart and eco-conscious. Partnering with UK stylist Ella-Louise Gaskell, the brand’s exclusive suite – which is certified carbon neutral by the carbon trust and has already welcomed Rochelle Humes, Hana Cross, Stacey Dooley and Mollie King – is encouraging its guests to champion rental fashion, second-hand clothing, re-worn pieces and sustainable fabrics.

“With the nation and world’s attention on the courts but also on tournament’s stylish and glamorous attendees,” said Ella, “it’s important we use these moments not only at Wimbledon but other major events, to speak directly to the masses watching.”

“We have an opportunity to show, educate and inspire people on how they can look their best for their next big event, whilst being ‘conscious’ at the same time. Even if one person watches and decides to recycle or rent their next look, that’s one step in a positive direction.”
