If you’ve already binge-watched Stranger Things season 4, part one, on Netflix, there’s no judgement here (after all, what was a four-day bank holiday weekend for, if not catching up on your favourite shows?)
Yet, with four long weeks until part two of our favourite American sci-fi horror drama series comes out, we’re itching for something to watch in the meantime. Which is why we’ve looked far and wide for the most Stranger Things-esque shows to enjoy while you wait.
In the interests of managing expectations here, it’s worth mentioning that there are no shows quite like Stranger Things, which is a one-of-a-kind, cross-genre mash-up of high school drama, 80s horror and science-fiction. Yet what we have curated for you is a bumper list of chilling supernatural dramas like Netflix’s supernatural horror-drama The Order, or Amazon Prime’s latest sci-fi anthology series, Solos.
For those who enjoy high-school teenage nostalgia elements, there’s the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – the spookier remake of the original hit Noughties series – and I Am Not Okay With This. Then there are the mystery-heavy plots, like The OA, to keep the puzzle-solving element of your brain going while you watch.
Who knows, you might even like some of these shows more than the one we’re comparing them all to (granted, that might be blasphemy for the most hardcore fans of Eleven, Billy Hargrove, et. al, but we deal in open minds here).
