Piers Morgan was welcomed onto BBC’s Sunday Morning this weekend to discuss some of the top news stories of the day. This marked the presenter’s first breakfast TV appearance since he quit his role on Good Morning Britain. Piers famously stormed off the ITV show in March last year during a debate about the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Making his return to breakfast TV on Sunday, Piers took a swipe at GMB.
Sunday Morning host Sophie Raworth welcomed Piers onto the programme to discuss the newspaper headlines of the day.
She remarked: “Piers Morgan is back on morning television. It’s been a while.”
“Piers, it’s been what, nine months since you were on television?” Sophie questioned.
Piers replied: “I haven’t been on breakfast television for nearly a year. It feels sort of weird, but nice.

He confirmed the new show would be starting in the Spring, airing daily in the UK, US and Australia.
The presenter continued: “So, I’ll be a tri-continental irritant which is something I’ve been aspiring to be for quite some time.
“It’s going to be opinion, debate, big interviews. So, if you’ve missed me on morning TV I’m sorry, but I’ll be back very soon.
“If you haven’t missed me I’m not sorry,” Piers added.
Many viewers were pleased to see Piers making a comeback to morning TV, sharing their thoughts on Twitter.
