AmaZulu rope in ex-Chiefs, Pirates & Sundowns stars – report

AmaZulu have reportedly roped in former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns stars as their development coaches.

Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Mbulelo Mabizela and Manqoba Ngwenya have all joined Usuthu, according to SowetanLIVE.

However, what’s unclear, at least at this stage, is the age groups they will head at AmaZulu who confirmed, through president Sandile Zungu, that there are different age groups within the clubs.

Letsholonyane retired from football not so long ago, and he immediately ventured into coaching, and recently acquired his CAF B Licence.

He is a Chiefs legend, and a former Jomo Cosmos, SuperSport United and TS Galaxy midfielder. He also featured for Bafana Bafana during his playing days.

Mabizela, on the other hand, played his best football for two years at Pirates before moving to Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur in 2003.

He is a former Bafana Bafana captain, and also played for Sundowns and Bidvest Wits upon his return abroad before signing for AmaZulu in the twilight of his career.

Lastly, Ngwenya was at Sundowns for seven years between 2003 and 2010, and he retired in 2013 following his return from Botswana’s Township Rollers.

AmaZulu’s Zungu could only confirm that the club will release a statement announcing the appointments of coaches from U13 to U19 without giving much away.

“Yes, it is true. We have development ranks from the U-13 all the way to U-19, so that requires people to be part of that,” Zungu said.

“Regarding the details, I can’t tell you we will issue a press release with all the details. Let me ask the guys to release the press release with all the details, which will state who will do what in what age group and even for how long.

“It will also explain who will be assisting who, but I don’t have those details with me at the moment.”
