Amber Heard has returned to the silver screen following her trial with ex Johnny Depp.

The American actress, 37, attended the premiere of her new film at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy.

Sporting a white tee and cream midi skirt, the In The Fire star beamed as she posed for photos.

Heard added a pop of colour with bold red lip and styled her blonde tresses in effortless waves.

She completed her look with black heels and a matching clutch bag and accessorised with classy pearl earrings.

Heard was all smiles as she chatted and laughed with friends, putting her recent legal ordeal behind her.

She was accompanied by her Italian co-star Luca Calvani, 48, as they promoted their latest project.

In the new thriller movie, the Aquamarine star plays a widowed American psychiatrist.

The 38-year-old, who is without kids, ‘arrives in a rich farm in Colombia, after being called to solve the case of a disturbed child.’

‘She was called by the child’s mother, who was worried about the increasingly insistent accusations by the local priest and the farmers – tormented by mysterious adverse events – that the child is the devil,’ the summary continues.

‘When the doctor arrives, she discovers that the boy’s mother is dead and that the father himself has begun to believe in the possible possession of the child.’

The film is one of a few new projects for Heard, who will also appear in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

She is expected to reprise her role as Mera when the movie drops in December.

The flurry of work comes after Heard relocated to Spain with her two-year-old daughter following her court case with Depp, 60.

She’s kept a relatively low profile since their legal battle, which saw Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp accused his former partner of defamation following a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post, which his lawyers said accused him of being an abuser.

Following a six-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, jurors returned a verdict in Depp’s favour.

In December, Heard made the ‘very difficult decision’ to settle the multimillion-dollar case, so that the situation could be resolved ‘on terms I can agree to’.

Taking to Instagram, she issued a lengthy statement, explaining her reason for putting an end to their legal battles, after also winning her case in the UK against The Sun.

‘After a great deal of deliberation I have made a very difficult decision to settle the defamation case brought against me by my ex-husband in Virginia,’ she began. ‘It’s important for me to say that I never chose this. I defended my truth and, in doing so, my life as I knew it was destroyed.

‘The vilification I have faced on social media is an amplified version of the ways in which women are re-victimised when they come forward. Now I finally have an opportunity to emancipate myself from something I attempted to leave over six years ago and on terms I can agree to.

‘I have made no admission. This is not an act of concession. There are no restrictions or gags with respect to my voice moving forward.’

‘I make this decision having lost faith in the American legal system, where my unprotected testimony served as entertainment and social media fodder,’ she continued.

Her statement proceeded to issue a message to fellow ‘survivors’.

‘Any survivor knows that the ability to tell their story often feels like the only relief, and I cannot find enough words to tell you the hope your belief in me inspires, not just for me, but for all of you. Thank you. See you soon,’ she signed off.
