American Horror Stories will be returning for a second season – and by the looks of it, the show’s creators, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, have spared no expense when it comes to giving their fans the fright they deserve while also bringing in some very familiar faces into the mix.
The anthology spin-off debuted last year, with each episode telling a different terrifying dread-filled tale. This starkly contrasted with the popular American Horror Story, which has been running since 2011, and tells a new story every season.
And it looks like Halloween has come months early, as the newly-released official trailer for the second season of American Horror Stories shows the return of cast favourites while adding several new high-profile names to its already brilliant cast.
The great thing with an anthology show is that you don’t need to have watched it from season 1. So for those of you who want to see what the fuss, or fright, is about this year (and, of course, fans who just need a refresher), what can you expect from the new season of American Horror Stories? Who is joining the cast for the second series of American Horror Stories?
We are so excited that Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone is part of the cast (Ugh, as if!). Actress Bella Thorne, Judith Light, Quvenzhané Wallis, and Pose‘s Dominique Jackson have also joined the line-up. We love to see new people join the AHS cast each year!

Which familiar faces are returning?
Longtime AHS actor Denis O’Hare is heavily featured in the trailer. Veterans Gabourey Sidibe, Nico Greetham, Cody Fern and New Girl‘s Max Greenfield, are also returning to play a slew of different characters from before.
What plots will feature in American Horror Stories?
By the looks of the eerie trailer, there will be an episode centred on a creepy man (O’Hare) who has made his own life-size dollhouse and plans to turn a woman he has kidnapped into his next living doll.
Silverstone’s character is also seen getting the fright of her life as a hand bursts out from a clogged bathtub and grabs her arm. Okay, we would officially pass out if that happened to us…
