Andy Reid’s tells Fox’s Tom Rinaldi ‘I could kiss you right now’ after Super Bowl 2023 win

Andy Reid’s second Super Bowl title with the Chiefs — both coming in the last four years — was big for the 64-year-old.

When asked by Fox’s Tom Rinaldi about the moment, following Kansas City’s 38-35 victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023, Reid said, “It means a lot. I could kiss you right now, but I’m not gonna do that.”

Rinaldi started laughing after Reid’s reply, before ending the interview and sending the broadcast to sideline reporter Erin Andrews — and an interview with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce that was filled with censored language.

Reid credited the “big O-line” and Mahomes, as well as offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, for keying a second-half comeback in which Kansas City scored on every possession. Harrison Butker, who missed a kick earlier in the game, sealed the victory with a game-winning field goal.

And at the center of the comeback for Reid and the Chiefs was Mahomes. He appeared to aggravate a high-ankle sprain after a T.J. Edwards tackle late in the first half, but he didn’t miss a snap, sparked an offensive resurgence and even logged key quarterback scrambles throughout the final 30 minutes. Mahomes finished 21-for-27 for 182 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 44 yards on six attempts. He was named the Super Bowl MVP, just days after claiming the league-wide title.

“Well, he’s the MVP,” Reid told Rinaldi about Mahomes. “That’s all that needs to be said, right? MVP. And you saw it tonight.”

Reid, who previously served as the Eagles’ head coach, has reached a critical juncture of his career, though. Fox’s Jay Glazer reported pregame that Reid told him he has a “decision to make” following the game, not committing to a return in 2023 and leaving the door open to Sunday possibly being his last game.

“I’m not getting any younger,” Reid told Glazer.
