Disney+ Hotstar’s latest series, The Night Manager, has managed to garner positive reviews from the audience as well as the critics; despite being a Hindi remake of a series of the same name. The stellar cast of the crime-thriller includes Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aditya Roy Kapur and Jagdish Rajpurohit, among others. In the four-episodic series, Anil Kapoor can be seen playing the role of an arms dealer. Besides this, his character also shares a palpable chemistry with Sobhita’s character. Speaking of the same, AK said that he was “nervous” to perform opposite Sobhita.

The actor shared this during a conversation with News18. For the unversed, in one scene, Anil and Sobhita share a kiss, while in the other, he slaps her. Commenting on the same, Anil asserted, “Sobhita and I had some tough scenes and I was nervous to a certain extent because I haven’t done such kinds of scenes with any actor before.”
Lauding her for extending support, Kapoor further added, “She was so supportive and wonderful that it helped me greatly. I might be experienced but youngsters sometimes don’t realise how much working with them and having their support helps me. The more time you spend in this business, the more difficult it becomes sometimes.”
Later, he went on to speak about working with the rest of the cast. Explaining his take, the 66-year-old actor said, “When you work with a team that’s so collaborative, the idea is to make the product even better. Both Sandeep (Modi; director and showrunner) and Priyanka (Ghosh; co-director) are very collaborative and that helped us all jam. They were very open to suggestions and inputs. We were all trying and helping each other. Every role written was so different and well-defined that you couldn’t get into anyone’s territory.”
The Night Manager, created and directed by Sandeep Modi with Shridhar Raghavan, started streaming on the OTT platform from February 17.
