Anne Hathaway is giving her Devil Wears Prada bangs another spin

Anne Hathaway officially has the signature brow-skimming bangs that her The Devil Wears Prada character, Andrea Sachs, wore in the 2006 film. The actor shared a four-part photo slideshow of the look to her Instagram grid on January 14 while wearing Valentino from head to toe.

Several Instagram users took to Hathaway’s comments section to call out the resemblance between her and the beloved character she played 16 years ago, with one user writing, “Andy you look so chic.” Another user wrote, “It’s giving Andy Sachs in 2022.”

Hairstylist Orlando Pita was responsible for transporting Hathaway’s hair back to her days playing a bright-eyed assistant at the fictitious Runway magazine.

The Instagram user who declared that the actor’s bangs were so 2022 isn’t wrong at all. In fact, they were also calling out what is expected to be one of 2022’s biggest haircut trends: wispy bangs. Hairstylist and owner of Chicago’s Space by Alex Brown, Alex Brown, previously told Allure that she believes this cut will be demanded everywhere this year. “We will see lots of wispy bangs with layers around the face, creating more movement and texture,” she said, adding that they’re perfect way to spice up long, thick hair. “Wispy bangs can add amazing softness and movement,” she explained.

Hathaway has also sported another style of bangs since being in The Devil Wears Prada: the ever-popular curtain bangs. She showed off the look via Instagram back in April of 2021, three months after wearing some side-swept bangs to promote her movie, Locked Down. It’s fair to say that the actor is quite a fan of bangs — but this time around, well, they just hit different. Welcome back, Andy.
