Anthony Joshua ready to do ‘it all again’ after loss to Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua has been pictured training with another new coach in Dubai as his search for a fresh addition heats up again.

The British heavyweight is searching for redemption next year after losing his unified world titles to Oleksandr Usyk in September.

Joshua faced heavy criticism for his tactical approach and has begun a search for a new training addition to potentially work alongside Rob McCracken.

Now Joshua has been pictured with trainer Anthony Wilson in the Middle East with no time for rest during the festive trip.

‘AJ’ was filmed hitting pads with the potential new addition as he continues to step up his training with a rematch against Usyk expected to take place next year.

Joshua is preparing to enter training camp for a potential second meeting with the Ukrainian after he activated his rematch clause in the aftermath of the loss.

The 32-year-old has been with long-term trainer McCracken since his meteoric rise through the 2012 Olympics and during his professional journey to two-time world champion.

But McCracken and his charge came under fire after he was seen to amble to a comprehensive points loss against Usyk, with his trademark explosive style nowhere to be seen.

Earlier this year speculation emerged that he could split with McCracken after he toured America with a whole host of trainers being shortlisted.

These were made into a four-man group of potential candidates which include Canelo Alvarez’s illustrious trainer Eddy Reynoso and Ronnie Shields.

Despite many calling for him to make the journey away from McCracken’s Sheffield HQ, Joshua confirmed he will initially be looking for a new trainer to work alongside McCracken.

But this could be disbanded if any new addition is unable to work with McCracken to try and re-grab his world titles for a third time.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has voiced his opinion to Joshua over a potential coaching switch admitting now could be the time for a fresh start.

“I feel it might be time to move on from that environment because when you’ve been there since you were 18 and you go into GB and Anthony Joshua is everywhere, he’s a god,” Hearn said.

“I just feel it’s time to rough him up a little bit, not in log cabins in the middle of nowhere. “But up there it’s ‘oh my God, it’s AJ!’ because they’re proud of him. Rob is not necessarily gone.

“That’s a conversation for those guys and it’s very difficult because is more than just a trainer, he’s a mentor to him, an advisor, a friend. It’s not just about who’s training him, it’s about where that’s going to take place.

“He’s talking to people and I think he will make a decision early in the new year.”

A rematch between Joshua and Usyk is expected to take place early next year with the likely venue set to be in the UK.
