The Philadelphia Show – a leading art and design fair known for the quality of its exhibitors – will be holding its 60th anniversary edition as a live event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, April 29 – May 1. This year’s event will feature more than 40 U.S. exhibitors that specialize in fine art, design, antiques, Americana, folk art, ceramics, porcelain, silver, textiles and decorative arts.

Among the exhibitors will be a handful of jewelry dealers offering antique and period pieces. They include the following:

Kentshire, New York – a well-known firm spanning 80 years and three generations of family ownership. Kentshire Galleries has been one of the foremost dealers of fine antique and period jewelry, furniture, and objets d’art. In 1988, Kentshire established a free-standing boutique in New York’s Bergdorf Goodman. Its antique and estate jewelry department continues to occupy a location on the store’s seventh floor next to BG Restaurant.

S.J. Shrubsole, Corp., New York – S. J. Shrubsole specializes in antique English and American silver and antique jewelry from Europe and America.

James Robinson, New York – Founded in 1912, the firm is best known for its 19th century jewelry and art deco jewelry of the 20th century; antique silver of the 16th through 18th centuries; antique porcelain services from England and the Continent; and antique table glass.

Dolan/Maxwell, Philadelphia – Dealers of Modern and Contemporary art specializing in WPA, Atelier 17, the New York School and African American Art.

In addition to the normal hours and days, there will be an opportunity for a first look of what the exhibitors have to offer with a preview party on April 28 from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m., with a special early viewing period at 5 p.m.

Throughout the duration of The Philadelphia Show, there will be a series of in-person “Booth Talks,” casual conversations held in various dealer booths. Discussion topics will range from early American furniture to Louis Comfort Tiffany glassware to mid-century modern design. They will be held daily at 12 P.M., 2 P.M. and 4 P.M.

The fair also will continue its tradition of the Loan Exhibition, part of The Philadelphia Show since its founding in 1962. The curated, museum quality Loan Exhibit changes with each show and allows visitors a closer look at specific genre of antiques. This year’s loan exhibition, Zero to Sixty, celebrates The Philadelphia Show’s 60th anniversary by highlighting loan exhibits throughout the years.

Proceeds from The Philadelphia Show will benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Division of Digital Resources and Content Strategy.
