Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa starring Tapsee Pannu to premiere at London Film Festival

Dobaaraa is the first film under Balaji Motion Pictures new wing, Cult Movies, and is set for a release on August 19

Ektaa R Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap’s thriller Dobaaraa is set to release on 19th August 2022. To add more excitement to this, The Tapsee Pannu-starrer will premiere at the London Film Festival. The director-actor duo will present the film at the opening night Gala of #LIFF2022 on 23rd June, 6 PM.  

Starring award-winning actress Taapsee Pannu, the film is directed by the acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap and produced by Shobha Kapoor & Ektaa R Kapoor (Cult Movies, a new wing under Balaji Telefilms) and Sunir Kheterpal & Gaurav Bose (Athena). 

This  thriller reunites Tapsee and Anurag for the third time. With Dobaaraa, the pair of Taapsee & Pavail Gulati will be seen again after the success of Thappad.

Dobaaraa is the first film under Balaji Motion Pictures new wing, Cult Movies, and is set for a release on August 19. 

Coming to Taapsee Pannu, the trailer of her next film Shabaash Mithu, was launched today. It’s the biopic of Mithali Raj, who is known for her record-breaking 23-year-long career in international cricket, made over 10000 runs in ODI. The film follows her journey to becoming a legendary cricketer and an inspiration to billions of girls and women across the world. The film is a tribute to the recently retired icon!

The message of ‘Nazariya badlo, khel badalgaya’ is encapsulated in the trailer to the hilt with compelling dialogues and glimpses of the talented Taapsee playing Mithali with utmost conviction. The actor is known for her power-packed performances and choice of films that challenge norms. 

The trailer was launched today amidst a lot of buzz by one of India’s most iconic cricketers, Sourav Ganguly.

The film, directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios hits theatres on 15th July.
