Apple Begins Sending Out Invite For Special 12 September Event

0

A little over an hour ago, Apple started sending out invites to a “special event” that is set to kick off next month. Specifically, 12 September.

As with all Apple events over the past few years, the event will be livestreamed and, again, more specifically, it will be livestreamed from the fruit company’s own Apple Park. The invite doesn’t say what exactly the event will be about, but at this stage, there’s no prize for correctly guessing what it’s about: the launch of the iPhone 15 series.

Rumours and speculation of what the iPhone 15 series will and will not be has been circulating the internet since last year. One rumour that appears to be consistent is that the next generation iPhone series may finally be the one to adopt USB-C, on account of a recent EU ruling on the standard, and likely with USB 2.0 transfer speeds.

Other rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 series will continue using the 48MP sensor as its main camera, which is logical, given that the current iPhone 14 series was the first to adopt the sensor size, and it wouldn’t make sense for the company from Cupertino to regress on the pixel count anyway.

Another, more recent rumour suggests that the fruit company may build the iPhone 15 Series using an all-new titanium chassis. This would make the phone lighter but at the same time, the choice of metal here could drive up the overall price of the phones.

In any case, we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple plans to announce on 12 September.
