TL;DR

  • Leaked renders have revealed the design of the Apple Watch Pro ahead of its September 7 launch.
  • The smartwatch may be the largest ever in the Apple family and could feature a new programmable button.

The Apple event is just a day away now, and a leak has outed the alleged design of the so-called Apple Watch Pro.

Rumors about Apple’s first Pro smartwatch have been swirling for a while. It’s expected to be a rugged smartwatch, and leaked CAD renders shared by 91Mobiles indeed show a bulky wearable.

The publication confirms a previous report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, saying that the Apple Watch Pro will have the biggest display yet on any Apple smartwatch. Per the report, it could measure 49mm, making it fairly larger than the range-topping 45mm Apple Watch Series 7.

Interestingly, the renders show an extra button on the left side of the frame (pictured above). Gurman, who confirmed the accuracy of the renders, suggests that this new button might be programmable to do whatever users want, like launching specific apps, workouts, or other functions.

Elsewhere, the Apple Watch Pro makes another noticeable design change. The digital crown now sits on a chunky protrusion on the right, giving the smartwatch a more rugged look.
