The UK is gearing up for The Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey this weekend, Saturday, May 6.
Football games up and down the country were postponed for the weekend following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II back in September, whilst three Premier League games were postponed for the weekend of the funeral.
So, with the huge national event taking place in London, will football matches once again be postponed?
Let’s take a look at the disruption to this weekend’s fixture list.
Are football games postponed for the coronation?
In the Premier League, the full complement of ten games will still go ahead over the course of the weekend.
However, a number of fixtures have been moved to ease the pressure on the capital.
West Ham’s home game with Manchester United has been moved from Saturday to Sunday, whilst Fulham’s home clash with Leicester has been moved to Monday, which has been declared an additional Bank Holiday across the UK.
Liverpool’s trip to Brentford will now take place at 5.30pm on Saturday having been moved from its original slot earlier in the day.
The only game to be held in London on Saturday will be Tottenham vs Crystal Palace, with kick-off at 3pm.

How will football celebrate the coronation?
The Premier League has not laid down any formal plans on how the coronation should be marked by clubs.
However, according to The Telegraph, the Premier League has written to its 20 clubs to ‘strongly suggest’ the national anthem is played before games.
The Premier League has also suggested clubs should consider displaying depictions of King Charles on stadium screens, along with items in matchday programmes, messages over the PA and through official social media channels.
