Argentina: Messi, Di Maria and more; Argentina full squad for the upcoming friendlies

The World Champions will be playing Panama and Curacao in two friendly matches on their home soil this month during the international break.

Argentina Matches:

Date Match Venue
March 23 Argentina vs Panama Mas Monumental Stadium, Buenos Aires
March 28 Argentina vs Curacao Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades, Santiago

It will be the first time Los Albicelestes will be taking the field after their World Cup triumph in Qatar last year. After a gap of 36 years, Lionel Messi lifted the World Cup for Argentina and the South American country thus completed their 3rd triumph in the global competition.

Argentina beat France in the final in penalties as it ended 3-3 after extra time. The South American team went on to win the tie-breaker 4-2 as Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni missed the spot kicks for Les Bleus.

For the upcoming matches, coach Lionel Scaloni has gone with some new names. Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has been called up to the squad, which also includes the likes of Maximo Perrone, the youngster who recently joined English club Manchester City. The World Cup’s Golden Glove-winning custodian Emiliano Martinez is also going to be a part of the team. He was sublime for his country in the final.

Lionel Messi will continue to play for his country and has been included in the team for the matches. The Argentine legend scored 7 goals in Qatar and became the first player to score in every knockout match of a FIFA World Cup.
