It would be an understatement to say that Ariana Grande and Jennifer Coolidge have a special bond. What they have is so much more than a friendship. Sure, Grande is happily married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez, and Coolidge is rumoured to have wed at some point in the past. But creatively, Coolidge and Grande are nothing short of soul mates.
At every opportunity, the Positions pop star and The White Lotus actor have taken turns impersonating and gushing about each other. In fact, Grande recently interviewed Coolidge for the cover of Entertainment Weekly in a moment that brought five years of mutual admiration full circle.

2018: The Tonight Show impression that started it all.
Circa the release of Sweetener, Grande stopped by The Tonight Show to show off some of her spot-on celebrity impressions. Embodying Coolidge’s Legally Blonde character, Paulette, Grande went viral for her pitch-perfect delivery of the iconic line “I’m taking the dog, dumbass.”
Coolidge would later reveal, in a Tonight Show appearance of her own, that she slid into the singer’s DMs after seeing the clip.
“My friend who is her age, Theresa, she was like, ‘You should DM Ariana,’” Coolidge told host Jimmy Fallon. “I thought it was such a good imitation, and I was like, ‘No, she’s got like 260 million followers. Those are robots. The robots answer the DMs! We will never ever get to her.’ And I did it anyway, and then this response came back. Next thing you know, I was going to her house getting fit for wardrobe for ‘Thank U, Next.’”
