NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A pop superstar and a two-time Oscar nominee will soon be “popular” with “Wicked” fans.
Ariana Grande will star as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba in a movie version of the hit Broadway musical.
Both posted their reaction to the casting news on social media. Grande sent flowers to Erivo saying, “See you in Oz.”
The movie will be directed by Jon M. Chu, who also directed the movie adaptation of the musical “In The Heights.”
