Ariana Grande Wore Winged Eyeliner — No, Like, Literally With Wings

0

Usually, when you think of winged eye makeup, it’s more or less synonymous with cat-eye liner — a flick or a dramatic stroke drawn upward and outward from the corner of the eye. It’s one of the Ariana Grande‘s favorite eye-makeup looks, but perhaps playing Glinda in the movie version of Wicked has inspired the singer to try a more whimsical — and literal — take on a winged look.

Grande posted photos shot by Katia Temkin in which makeup artist Michael Anthony gave her a magical makeup look done entirely with her own R.E.M. Beauty products — plus a little something extra. In the crease of her lids, where one might put a darker shade, Anthony instead put three-dimensional wings. The almost teardrop-shaped add-ons are made of a sheer, iridescent material, and they stretch out beyond the sides of Grande’s face with antenna-like extensions.

Perhaps that’s not an everyday look for most of us, but the rest of the makeup absolutely is. It includes On Your Collar Plumping Lip Gloss in Jelly Sandals, Practically Permanent Lip Stain Marker in Booked n Busy, Interstellar Highlight Topper in Miss Mercury, Sweetener Concealer in Light 4G, Dream Lashes in Eternally Meowing, Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette in Principessa, and Eclipse Blush + Lip Stick in Broadway Baby.
