Chelsea were demanding 75 million pounds initially, but The Athletic reported the London club may agree with a lesser fee. The Blues need to move on some of their players in order to bolster their squad and allow incomings, and Havertz’s departure is seen as a building block to that.

Since joining the Blues in 2020, the Germany international has played 139 times for them, scoring 32 goals and 15 assists. The attacker has also played 37 times for Germany, scoring 13 goals in them.

Arsenal, who finished 2nd in the Premier League last season, are aiming to go a place further and need proper additions for that. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also keen on bringing a couple of midfielders and the Gunners have been linked with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Will Kai Havertz shine at Arsenal?

For Arsenal, the 24-year-old’s arrival will give them an added dimension to the attack. Havertz is a versatile player who has the ability to play in multiple positions up front. He can opt as a striker or on the left wing, while can be deployed as an attacking midfielder as well.

Havertz will provide a different approach for them. His ability to pass in half spaces will be crucial for the other attackers like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. The German has a potent heading ability and his ability to play in multiple positions is a great artillery for the Gunners to have.

His time at Chelsea can’t be said as a prolific one. With 32 goals in 139 appearances, he would definitely be aiming to increase his goal per game output, and at Arsenal, the player may get a greater opportunity to reach the next level.
