William Saliba, who joined the Gunners back in 2019, has mostly been on the fringes. He had three loan stints in three different French clubs and then made his professional debut for Arsenal last sesaon.
After a stellar debut season in the Premier League, the Gunners have tied the defender down to a long-term contract at the club. The 22-year-old was one of the best Arsenal players last season as the Gunners made a strong bid for the Premier League.
Saliba played 33 appearances across all competitions and his performance was widely appreciated by football experts.
His contract was about to expire at the end of this season and it will come as a huge relief to Arsenal as they have managed to commit the youngster, who looks destined for elite things.
Saliba has signed a new four-year deal which will keep him at the club till the end of the 2026-27 season.

“To have William extend his contract with us was something we have wanted to do for a long time. William proved last season just how good and how important he is to our squad,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said.
William Saliba’s contract extension will come as a major boost as the North London club have already tied down the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes with long-term contracts.
Young winger Reiss Nelson also committed to a long-term deal with the club. Arsenal have also signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea this season, whereas they are set to complete deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber soon.
