Arsenal have given midfielder Thomas Partey permission to explore a transfer to a club in Saudi Arabia this summer, according to reports.

Arsenal are ready to cash in on Partey with him and Granit Xhaka both set to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta is hoping to revamp his midfield this summer with Declan Rice the club’s top target.

Partey played a major part in Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge last season but Arteta and sporting director Edu are set to make key changes to the squad.

The Ghana international could be the latest big name to head to the Middle East after the Gunners gave him the green light to look at offers from Saudi clubs.

That’s according to the latest reports with Partey, 30, also linked with a summer move to two clubs in Italy.

Partey joined Arsenal in a £45m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and having overcome fitness issues that plagued his first two seasons at the club, he was a mainstay in midfield during the 2022-23 campaign.

Arsenal are said to be have been disappointed with his performance levels towards the end of the season as the club surrendered a healthy lead at the top to Manchester City.

William Gallas, meanwhile, has warned Partey that his Arsenal future is in doubt due to the club’s desire to bring in Rice from West Ham.

‘I think the signing of Rice would have a big impact on Thomas Partey and his future with the club,’ Gallas said. ‘Arsenal will need to sell a midfielder because they can’t have that many at the club and also sign Rice.’
