The Gunners custodian has been a pivotal cog of the club’s jigsaw, and a fresh deal depicts the trust and reliance on the player. The club announced Ramsdale’s commitment to a long-term contract, as we understand the brand-new deal will keep him at the club till 2028.

The England international signed for the club in 2021 and his arrival from Sheffield United was much debated. But Ramsdale quickly established himself as the no. 1 and hasn’t looked back since. The 25-year-old has also become a massive fan-favorite at the North London club.

The player was delighted to sign a new deal at the club. Speaking with Arsenal’s official media channel, he expressed his happiness.

“It’s a huge amount of pride, it’s something you work for. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been at the club for a month or for four years, you always want to get the next one and push on with the team,” Ramsdale said.

“To get it after two years, I’m buzzing. It just means I can concentrate and keep my head down, and hopefully after a few more years I’ll get another one and carry on living the dream at the football club,” he added.

Ramsdale’s previous deal was running till 2025 and there was an option to extend it for another year. But the new terms will keep him at least two more years at the Emirates.

He has played 39 matches so far this season and has kept 15 clean sheets. Throughout the season, the former Sheffield United player has made some stellar saves and has been one of the top performers for the club this season.

Ramsdale’s contract extension means the Gunners now have William Saliba and Bukayo Saka remaining to sign a fresh term. MyKhel understands Saka has already penned a deal and an official announcement will be coming soon, while MyKhel can also confirm talks with William Saliba are also progressing well.
