Mikel Arteta has publicly stated his desire to keep Nketiah at the club, but the Hale End graduate has only featured four times in the league this season under the Spaniard.
If Nketiah refuses to commit to a new deal, January represents the final opportunity for Arsenal to cash in on the attacker.
Although Nketiah has bagged five goals in as many games in the Carabao Cup, a competition that he’s traditionally performed well in, he’s struggled to replicate that form when he does get the nod in the league.
While he’s only made a handful of appearances this season, he managed just two goals in 17 games last term – leading some to question whether Nketiah was up to the standard required to play for the club.
