Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League this season, meaning they will return to the Europa League next campaign.

Whilst Mikel Arteta ‘s side certainly improved, there were obvious issues with the Gunners’ squad depth. However, that can all be resolved in the coming weeks and months as Edu looks to negotiate as best as he possibly can in the transfer market. With Arsenal needing to address plenty of positions, particularly up front and in central midfield, the Brazilian is expected to be very busy.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the rumours that are floating around the rumour mill as things stand.

Youri Tielemans

Recent reports from The Telegraph have suggested that Arteta is pushing Arsenal to make an opening bid of £25million for the Belgian. football.london previously reported that the north Londoners are interested in signing the former Monaco star and if the above report is to be believed, Edu and co will certainly be acting on that interest.

Mathias Olivera

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, as cited by Sport Witness, Arsenal have become the latest club to join the chase for Getafe defender Mathias Olivera, with Napoli and at least two other clubs said to have made a bid for his services. The Serie A side had reportedly agreed a fee with Getafe worth €11million (£9.3million), plus €3million-€4million (£2.5million-£3.4million) in bonuses, but the report has suggested that as a result of the competition, that fee has now increased to an immediate payment of €20million (£17million).

Victor Osimhen

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal have submitted a bid of £76million for Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen. However, they’ve rejected the offer and told the north Londoners that they want £93million for the Nigerian international.

Hector Bellerin

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that he doesn’t see Hector Bellerin staying at Arsenal. Speaking on the Gazzetta dello FIVE YouTube channel, he said: “His loan deal is expiring, so at the moment yes, but I don’t see him staying, honestly.”
