Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is taking a look at a young USA player who has been described as “phenomenal” – as questions are being asked of one of the Gunners’ star players.
Arteta’s team have invited the youngster, Dantouma Toure, to train with the club, and could move to make the stay permanent.
On more senior matters, the club have been sent warnings over captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following his latest misfire against Everton.
Darren Bent is concerned about the contract the club handed its star striker some 18 months ago, while John Barnes has told the club they may be better off without its current captain altogether.

Aubameyang transfer message
Liverpool legend John Barnes has urged Arsenal to sell captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners forward has struggled in front of goal this season and dropped to a place on the bench for Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Everton on Monday night.
And Barnes thinks the club would be better off without Aubameyang and fellow Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette.
He also criticised the Arsenal captain, who he says should be a “leader” but “isn’t displaying those qualities”.

Gunners ‘repeat Ozil mistake’
Fellow pundit Darren Bent, however, believes that the bumper contract handed to Aubameyang last September could make shifting him rather difficult.
The Arsenal captain earns a whopping £350,000-a-week, and according to Bent “it’s like the Mesut Ozil situation all over again”.
The club have now been left in a “no win” dilemma with the captain, putting Mikel Arteta in a tricky position, the talkSPORT pundit added.

USA wonderkid training with club
Dantouma Toure, who plays in the MLS for Colorado Rapids, is training with Arsenal.
The youngster, who is nicknamed “Yaya” after the Manchester City legend, has been described as “phenominal” and “the real deal” by fans on social media following his performances stateside.
It remains to be seen how long the player will stay with the club for and whether Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be sufficiently impressed to make a move for the young star.
