Arsenal sent discouraging transfer message as William Saliba speaks out on future

Many fans have clamoured to see Saliba grace the first team in the Premier League, even before his encouraging antics at Marseille.

But while Arteta sounds like he has long-term plans for the centre-back, his recent actions suggest otherwise.

The Spanish boss omitted Saliba from his Premier League and Europa League squads in the 2020/21 season.

He also sanctioned the £50million signing of Brighton and Hove Albion’s Ben White, recruited to partner Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence.

But Saliba is rightly putting all of his focus on his temporary stint in his homeland, and he will likely assess his options next summer.
