Thomas Partey has given Arsenal a huge lift after taking to social media to update Gunners fans on his fitness.

The Ghanaian has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s team this season and missed the club’s last four Premier League games following a thigh injury picked up in a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace earlier this month.

It was feared the midfielder would be out for the rest of the campaign with Arteta not long ago describing the injury as ‘significant’ and predicting that Partey would be out for ‘some weeks’.

However, in a recent video posted by the player on Instagram, Partey can be seen running on a treadmill, appearing to signal an early return from injury.

Partey’s availability would be a massive boost to Arteta with his team having struggled to replace the 28-year-old in recent defeats against Brighton and Southampton.

Mohamed Elneny has since come in and performed well in successive wins against Manchester United and Chelsea but re-establishing Partey’s partnership with Grant Xhaka in midfield is imperative with Arsenal facing tough away games at West Ham and top-four rivals Tottenham before the end of the season.

The Gunners currently sit just two points above Tottenham in fourth place with five games to go and Champions League qualification could move Arteta’s revolution at the Emirates to the next level.

Last week, the Spaniard outlined what qualifying for Europe’s top table would bring back to the club.

He said: ‘Champions League brings, first of all, the club much closer to where we want and to play in a competition that has a huge history in relation to our club.

‘Secondly, obviously it improves every situation with the sponsor, financially, expectations, the capacity to grow our players and expose them into a different dimension of a competition and this is where we want to be.

‘It is a game changer. The Champions League pushes you there with the best teams in Europe and we definitely want to be there.’
