Lightscape
Kings Park and Botanic Gardens, Wednesday to Sunday until July 30
Set to change your view of winter in Perth, Lightscape is using the gorgeous gardens of Kings Park as its canvas for an immersive journey through a wonderland of colourfully illuminated tree canopies, larger-than-life flowers and glowing tunnels. Melville Midwinter
Dyoondalup Point Walter Reserve, 5-8pm, June 24
Melville Midwinter returns for its third year, the free artistic festival celebrating the winter solstice during the Noongar season of Makuru. The evening of song, dance, theatrical and spoken word performances culminates with an invitation for audience members who dare to partake in a plunge into the cool waters of the Swan River, as a symbolic gesture of new beginnings. Strange Festival
Various venues, Perth CBD until June 25

Supanova Comic Con and Gaming
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, June 24-25
Supanova Comic Con and Gaming is blasting back with some favourites of the sci-fi and fantasy realms. This year’s pop culture event features Alyssa Milano (Charmed), Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth ‘Bitsie’ Tulloch (Superman and Lois), Kevin Eastman (co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Barry Pearl (Grease) and more. 2023 Free Community Involvement Cabaret Program
His Majesty’s Theatre, from June 24
The 2023 Perth International Cabaret Festival may not be going ahead as scheduled this year but organisers are still running a Free Community Involvement Cabaret Program with workshops and other cabaret events, headlined by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse’s new Noongar show Koorlangka!
