Belgium’s Arte Antwerp has returned for the Fall/Winter 2022 season with a collection that celebrates the imperfections of human creations.
Taking inspiration from various traditional crafts such as old-school patchwork, quilting, and crochet techniques, the brand’s latest offering is centred around new fabrics and textures which serve as a counterbalance to the precision of modern technology.
Focusing on streamlined silhouettes and quality craftsmanship, items from the collection include soft mohair cardigans, monochrome outerwear and waxed blouson jackets which have been treated to a reflective finish to resemble wet paint. Arriving in a calm, earthy colour palette, the brand’s ‘Heart Icon’ serves as the key detail across many of the styles, such as quilted puffer sets, clover-shaped heart jeans and painted finger-heart emojis on the backs of the varsity jackets.
A plethora of workwear and sportswear-style relaxed bottoms, caps and beanies round out the range, while hand-dyeing techniques, handwritten motifs and flawed patterns explore the label’s idea that “imperfection as real life isn’t perfect, it’s much more interesting than that.”
