Belgium-born label Arte Antwerp has just launched the second instalment of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection with an editorial featuring footballing sensation Rafael Leão. Inspired by Bauhaus—an art movement known for its use of geometric shapes and experimentation with primary colours—the imprint’s latest range features a series of bold prints and circular patterns that are elevated by sharp lines and precision through a geometric lens.
“Who do we do it for? is a simple thought that has the power to evoke memories, emotions and motivation to push beyond boundaries. It’s a thought that has led both Arte’s founder and creative director, Bertony Da Silva, and the young football sensation Rafael Leão to where they are today, step by step, carving out their own place in the world,” reads a statement from the label.
“Besides Angolan roots and a youth spent in the suburbs of Lisbon, they share a fearless approach to their own fields. Whether it is clothing or football, the underlying sentimental value to creating something with longevity, something to service their community is what connects both men. Each in their own way is determined to create a community of togetherness and appreciation for differences, to use their voice and platform to further and inspire those who are otherwise invisible or overlooked.”
Rounding things out, classic Arte Antwerp shades—black, white, navy, grey and cream—are combined with a bright “Lake Blue” and yellow, creating a refreshing colour palette and setting the mood for the summer to come.
The second drop of the Arte Antwerp Spring/Summer 2023 collection is available now online and in-store at selected retailers.
