Arteta hails Saka’s maturity after scoring penalty at Chelsea

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has identified his four-man shortlist as the Gunners boss targets another summer overhaul of his squad.

The Emirates outfit brought in six players for a combined £149million last summer in what was a record-breaking transfer window for the club. And Gunners boss Arteta doesn’t seem like he’s content to sit on his laurels and wants to press on with reshaping his team in the coming window.

It comes as a forgotten Arsenal man starred in the 4-2 win over Chelsea – to finally start proving former boss Arsene Wenger right. Elsewhere, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang posted an ambiguous Instagram message following that win that suggests he was watching the game.

Aubameyang’s ambiguous message

Ex-Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken to Instagram to share an ambiguous message following Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The Gunners were twice pegged back in the first half as Timo Werner netted after Eddie Nketiah’s opener before Cesar Azpilicueta equalised after Emile Smith Rowe’s fine striker. But the Gunners proved too much for the hosts in the second half as Nketiah bagged his second of the game before Bukayo Saka struck home a late penalty to seal the win.

And after the match, Aubameyang celebrated with former understudy Nketiah on Instagram as he posted emojis of a telephone followed by a heart.

Wenger proved right

Arsene Wenger has finally been proved right by a forgotten Arsenal man who he brought to the club.

Mohamed Elneny partnered Granit Xhaka at the base of the Gunners’ midfield with Thomas Partey missing through injury and was solid throughout as Mikel Arteta’s side registered a 4-2 win. And Elneny’s appearance may well have been a big part of Arsenal’s win if Arsene Wenger’s assessment of the Egyptian is anything to go by.

The Arsenal legend previously said Elneny’s “style of play adds protection to the team” as he sang the midfielder’s praises on beIN Sports.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is gearing up for another busy summer in the transfer market.

The Gunners boss has reportedly identified four transfers he wants to make in the off-season as he continues his Arsenal rebuild.
