A total of 13 matches will be played in the tournament, starting with the group stage that sees the six teams divided into two groups of three teams each. India, Pakistan and Nepal are in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in Group B.

India will face Pakistan in their Group A match on September 2 in Kandy followed by the fixture against Nepal on September 4 at the same venue, while Pakistan will host Nepal in the tournament opener on August 30 in Multan. All of India’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka.
In Group B, Sri Lanka open their campaign against Bangladesh on August 31 in Kandy followed by the two fixtures in Lahore, where Bangladesh meet Afghanistan on September 3, while the Afghanistan side face Sri Lanka on September 5.
The top two teams will progress to Super Four stage, where each team faces the other team once, promising a second fixture between Pakistan and Sri Lanka that could be played in Colombo on September 10. The top two of the Super Four stage will then meet in the final on September 17.
Among the 13 matches, four will be played in Pakistan across two venues, and nine matches will be hosted by Sri Lanka across two venues. The final will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The tournament, which was held in T20 format in the previous two editions, is returning to the ODI format after five years and will serve as a warm-up for the ODI World Cup set to be played in India in October and November.
In the 2018 edition, which was a 50-over tournament, Rohit Sharma-led Indian side beat Bangladesh by three wickets in the final, while Sri Lanka won the most recent edition in 2022, held in T20 format, by beating Pakistan in the final.
