MUMBAI: After much delay, the full schedule of the 2023 Asia Cup is set to be announced this week. The development follows a meeting between the representatives of the Asian Cricket Council, which is headed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, and the Pakistan Cricket Board.
In a media release on Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board informed that “On Saturday, 15 July, a meeting was held between the PCB and ACC officials in respect of finalising the schedule of the Asia Cup 2023, logistical and organizational arrangements and marketing campaigns. The finalised schedule is likely to be announced during this week. With the opening match scheduled to kick off in Pakistan, the PCB, as the event host, looks forward to welcoming cricket fans from across the world to experience Pakistan’s renowned hospitality.”
On June 15, the ACC had announced that the continental tournament will be played from August 31 to September 17. With the ACC accepting PCB’s hybrid model, nine matches were supposed to be held in Sri Lanka and four in Pakistan.

However, with Zaka Ashraf taking over from Najam Sethi, there was speculation that PCB would demand for more matches in Pakistan.
However, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had recently told a news agency that the 4-9 match distribution model between Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the 2023 Asia Cup remained intact, and that the India-Pakistan matches would be held in Dambulla.
