For James Harden, it’s been an eventful offseason.
The Philadelphia 76ers were expected to re-sign the guard in free agency until reports emerged about a disagreement in contract negotiations, leading Harden to exercise his $35 million option for next season.
The sides head for a divorce, with Harden reportedly wanting out of Philadelphia and a move to the Los Angeles Clippers with All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, creating a new big three.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported what 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey seeks in a potential Harden deal.
“Philly’s asking price for Harden is “extremely high” and the 76ers are prepared to wait for the most advantageous deal to accommodate Harden’s trade request.”
