Surprise! ASOS has launched a sample sale online – and no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, most of the items are just £5.
You’d be forgiven for thinking the online sale isn’t legit, since shoppers weren’t given much notice of the new website (which needs an entirely new login and registration), but we can confirm it’s not too good to be true.
An ASOS spokesperson told MailOnline: “The site is only open to UK customers with delivery and fulfilment handled using ASOS’ existing fulfilment infrastructure and capability, including packaging and shipping. Visitors will be required to register a new account and cannot use their ASOS details to log in.”
Plenty of shoppers took to TikTok and Twitter to share their buys from the sale, which include high-priced items that have been heavily discounted – and cult picks from Topshop including jeans.
“Just got a pair of Topshop cord flares for FIVE POUNDS. FIVE POUNDS. ASOS sample sale, everything’s a fiver,” one person tweeted. Another wrote: “Being a night owl worked wonders for me because I was able to grab 10 bits from the ASOS sample sale last night and now it’s mostly sold out.”

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
Like any sample sale, there’s been a bit of a frenzy for the best picks (though thankfully being a website, there’s no shoving or queue jumping involved) – but according to the brand, the ‘next drop is coming soon’.
Unsurprisingly, the move has also raised questions about sustainability, though ASOS has stated that the pop-up sample sale is part of an effort to reduce its excess stock – which some may argue at least prevents the garments from going to landfill.
A representative told Retail Gazette: “This is part of our plan to right-size our stock portfolio… and gives us another route to clear stock in an effective and efficient way.”
