An aspiring model living in a Manhattan shelter was allegedly stabbed to death by her roommate when the two got into a fight over loud music.
Victoria Goode, 27, was allegedly knifed to death by her roommate, 42-year-old Charmaine Crossman, on Dec. 16.

Crossman fled the Project Renewal Shelter in Midtown but surrendered to police four days later after the NYPD released her photo to the public.
“My baby’s gone, my only daughter,” Goode’s father, James, told the New York Post.

“She feared for her life before the attack, that’s what her mother told me,” he claims. “She feared for her life just this month. She complained to the shelter more than once, and she called the cops too.”
“She described her roommate as more than a jerk,” he alleged. “She said her roommate used to go around talking to the devil, talking to a pumpkin and crap.”
The two women argued about “loud music and smoking marijuana in the room,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig alleged during a press briefing.
Things escalated when Crossman allegedly sprayed the victim with air freshener, while Goode threw a blanket on her in response.
That allegedly prompted Crossman to pull out a knife and stab Goode “multiple times.”

Goode was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family pay for funeral arrangements.
The investigation is ongoing but a lawyer for Goode’s family is trying to determine what complaints she shared with the shelter in regards to Crossman.
“What the specifics are, we’re in the process of unraveling,” attorney Sanford Rubenstein told The Post.
“They had noticed that there was a problem with the roommate and the victim, and they did nothing,” he continued. “We believe they had an obligation, once they knew there was a danger to the victim, to take action, at least move the roommate out of the room or move her out of the room.”
Rubenstein added: “The family wants justice. And that means all those be held accountable for this terrible justice — justice for the killing with regard to the killer, and just civility with regard to the shelter.”
